For wedding Memey wears Jimmy Choo shoes

Actress Memey Suhaiza will don jimmy choo shoes personally designed by Datuk Jimmy Choo when she ties the knot with Norman Hakim in a wedding-of-the-year that is set to cost RM7.6mil.Memey will wear an ensemble of gowns and pearls, said to be worth RM6.6mil, at the wedding steeped in New York-styled glamour, which will also be attended by “surprise guests from overseas”.The two pairs of pearl-adorned shoes are worth over RM1mil.Gearing for a fairytale wedding: Choo (second from left) showing a pearladorned shoe with Memey (left), Norman and Sin at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel in Kuala Lumpur Friday.

Choo said he felt privileged to design shoes specially for the bride.“This is the first time I am designing for a celebrity in my own country,” he told a joint press conference at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel yesterday with Rafflesia Pearl Centre director Winnie Sin, wedding planner Bill Bora and the happy couple.The hotel will be the wedding venue, which will be held on Sept 28.

Choo said the knock off jimmy choo shoes would be handmade in the United Kingdom.“But I will need to look at the outfit first. The designs will incorporate input from Memey, too,” he added.Choo hoped the design would attract more foreigners to shop in Malaysia while promoting local designs.“We have everything in Malaysia, I will always support local designs,” he added.

Sin said the company would provide two sets of South Sea pearl and diamond jewellery worth RM2.8mil.She said pearls would be embedded into the two gowns, but the designers had yet to be determined.he gowns, which will be worn during the couple's entry and cake-cutting ceremony, are estimated to cost RM500,000 each, a little more than the RM400,000 dress worn by Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin during her wedding.The venue's decoration, which is budgeted at RM150,000, will feature an island bridal dais, four carousels and lavish chandeliers to stir up a Northern American splendour.
